15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Interview #1

  • This person I interviewed said that this is not a huge pressing concern of theirs. They do not generally think of this problem until it directly affects them. That this is something they would start to look for alternatives if they were to buy expensive tickets to a game, check the weather, and if it were bad weather then they would look for the solution. They said they would not look that deeply into it. Their first solution would be to just take an umbrella with them to the game. When I presented this other solution of the bleacher chair attachments with a clear roof that would not obstruct views of others, they it would mainly depend on the price. They said that this is something they would seek for alternatives in an in-person store and would look for the cheapest option to pay with cash. They said their review would be based on how protected they were from the weather and how sturdy the equipment is for re-use.
Interview #2

  • The person I interviewed was someone that regularly attends every gator game. They said they already have alternatives to this solution available. They have ponchos and umbrellas ready for bad weather on game days. I told them if they were to go to a game and bad weather snuck up on them what would be their train of thought to purchase an alternative. They said they would probably just buy a poncho if it were available because it is generally disposable and cheaper. Price is something of main priority considering they already own a couple of solutions. Since they are regular game-goers they said this is something they would definitely look into purchasing if they heard good reviews about their protection from rain and durability.
Interview #3

  • The person I interviewed attends some games but is not an avid sports fan. They said that if it were to start raining and they really wanted to stay they would look for a disposable option like a poncho. They said price is the number one priority and they do not care to invest in a more innovative invention since they would not want to be burdened with holding onto it throughout their entire game day. They said if they were to use it for any reason they would measure it's effectiveness on how dry they are after the game because they said umbrellas and ponchos do not always leave you completely dry.
In conclusion, I think that through these interviews I learned that this project would be best catered towards those regular game-goers. Price is something that needs to be worked on to produce a product that is not noticeably more expensive than other alternatives but also keeps you more protected than other alternatives.

  1. Hey Fabiana,
I still think your idea is an amazing idea and will provide a great service but as per your interviews it does seem like price would be your deciding factor. I like that you had three different interviews in the aspect of the experience level of attending games. I really think over all you did a great job and could definitely see your product in the stadium. You product is something I would most certain use on rain on days.

  2. Fabiana, one thing that really caught my attention was that you interviewed three people at three different levels of being a fan that attends game. I found this interesting because it can really give you different viewpoints on your product that can help you alter it to capture more of your target market. In your conclusion you mentioned price as one of the main factors, which is true, but I believe that creating awareness for your product is best because everybody knows about ponchos and all the other alternatives. I believe the best way to get yours out there is to show it to people in person and create awareness. Overall, great work!

  3. Hey Fabiana,
I thought it was great that you were able to interview three different levels of sports fanatics but overall it does seem that they are not willing to spend a lot of money to solve their solution of a bad weather day. I believe that when buying the ticket they took precaution on what if the weather is bad that day and if so it looks like their solution is a simple poncho.
