Domain Expert in the Industry

  • This person is involved in the sale of merchandise for a stadium. They have worked in this shop for over two years now and they have knowledge on customer activity, even when it comes to bad weather days. They are the manager of this specific store. A friend of mine works the register at one of these stores and I asked to contact her manager. I just asked for a couple minutes of their time to talk about my assignment which they think would be a great business concept with some refinement. I think including them gives me a more realistic feedback of my product. 
Expert on your Market

  • The person I chose to talk to me about the market was my friend that works in a merchandise store for the Gators. They have been working there for a while and know the regular preferences of customers, year round. They told me how on bad weather days they have a higher influx of customers looking for a shield against the rain and having this product would be very advantageous. They are someone beneficial on my team because they know how customers buying patterns work according to specific days.
Supplier in the Industry

  • I worked with the team from the last two previous sections above and they said their suppliers for umbrellas is usually a general supplier that customizes their product for the gators. So I think that this is something very crucial for the product, customization. This is important to recognize because to appeal to a buyer you need  to show that you can customize your product to their preferences. 
I think networking is really important and having the chance to connect with different people in the industry is crucial. Getting a better scope of how people view a product is necessary in being able to exploit its potential to its maximum.

  1. Fabiana, I thought you did a really did a great job with this assignment. Your domain expert is perfect for your kind of product and the fact that they work in a stadium can also get you a path straight to consumers at the place where the event is, and the most consumers can walk by and see it without any advertising. Your expert on the market is also someone very credible and someone who knows what kinds of things fans look for and what products they want to purchase, so they can give you some really helpful insight on your product. I also liked how you stressed customization for your supplier because I believe giving consumers a way to make their own mark on the product, they purchase makes them even more inclined to use it, which only leads to higher sales and satisfaction.

    Your post was really interesting and I found it especially important that one of your connections is a friend who works in a merchandise store for the gators. This is the perfect in for you because this connection could get your product placed in a busy college down merchandise store with hundreds of thousands of fans. Definitely make sure to stick with that connection.

I thought it was really cool and important that you were able to have a connection who is an expert on the market that knows the things that your consumers are looking for. This will be a huge advantage for you and you will be able to get an insight on your product.

    I really enjoyed reading and learning more about each and every one of your experts. I think your strong point was building a connection with your experts. In the long run these people could help you fully implement your idea and get your product out there. I think this assignment and talking to all your expects created an advantage point for yourself and you learned a lot. Overall great job.
